Bit of a predicament - Our new neighbours have got a husky puppy, it arrived on Saturday.  The lady of the house doesn't live there at the moment, she's coming later in the year, so it's living with the chap.  Thing is, he is out of the house between ten and eleven hours a day.  He waks it on the lane for five minutes before he goes to work and same again when he comes home - other than that I haven't seen anyone popping in through the day (and believe me I'VE WATCHED).  Now, we don't have anything to do with them, 'cos he's not the friendly type (if you know what I mean).  I'm just a little concerned and I don't feel it's fair on the little thing  - to be taken away from its mum and then left such a long time on its own,  I know when I let a puppy go, I'm mindful how long they're on their own.  My OH says to ask him what's happeniing, but I'm a bit wary.  Any advice?

Couldnt you be out at same time he is walking the pup and start up a conversation about how lovely it is, then you might get a chance to offer to 'help' ?

In theory this new welfare bill should be able to be put in place here, ie if the pup is not getting a reasonable standard of care for it's needs. If you find out it really is being left for so long and this looks set to continue for it's life maybe there could now be something you can do via the welfare people, just a thought!

I've been saying this  - that surely what appears to be happening is against the law.  I really am going to have to find a spare set of b**ls from somewhere and nab him.  It's really getting to me.

It's difficult because he doesn't even acknowledge that you are there, he just ignores everything around him.

might be best to start up a conversation- he may have made arrangements for someone to pop in while hes out and they are not doing so-
