Must just let people know.  I have had a most awful e-mail from someone looking for a puppy.  Has seen my website. This 'person' was quite offensive in his manner and told me he would consider my breed of puppy if I could assure him of their working/show ability as he believed that collies and GSD were the ultimate working dog. Now I have no problem with that comment but I answered him basically telling him that he obviously wouldn't be happy with my breed if his choice would be collie or GSD. He has at last replied that that is exactly what he will do as at least he could rely on them. I know he was probably just a Troll but am just warning anyone in these breeds in case he tries to contact for a puppy. Personally I wouldn't sell him a stuffed toy but hey ho who am I to judge.
Truely, please be careful!  If anyone wants a name I will happily provide it.

horses for courses as neither breed would suit me.  Now if only the Goldens didn't have floppy ears and long swishy tails, and had to retrieve everything and were a different colour then I might go for one, lol :D :D

If you saw the haircut I give my Friends almost 15 year old Golden I sure would be.  Mind you it is better than the clipping she got a few years ago where it took over two years for coat to grow on her back again.

I thin all her feathers with thinning scissors and remove any hair prone to matting on the insides of her legs and armpits, trim the hair on inside of ears and shorten that on the outside as she is a tinker and rolls in everything.  Her poor arthritic elderly owner finds it hard to groom her.

Barbara that doesn't sound all THAT different to a show trim for a Golden you know! :) We certainly do the ears inside and out and shorten feathering and thin out/shorten trousers etc, as well as ,of course, the chest, the tail and the paws.

Oh yes I definately do the feet and tail, she pretty well finishes up looking like a puppy.

Seriously I wouldn't be as unkind as that -two very different breeds altogether. :) But the whole thing reminded me of years ago in rabbits. I had just started to breed Cashmere Lops which was then a newly recognised breed. The Cashmere Lop is a lop eared breed with long fur, but not the woolly type of fur seen in the Angora rabbit (which has to be clipped regularly). I remember meeting a old rabbit fancier/judge to buy some hutches (as he made them) and he asked what breed I had. When I said Cashmeres his reply was "Oh don't ever show them b****y things under me! They're just Angoras gone wrong!"

If it is edible just turn my back and those grey jobs have long reaching tongues.

Have had the Troll on again. Wants to know if he mentions my name to Pastoral people that I might know, will he get a discount.  Told him not to bother contacting me again. I am just in the mood for him at this stage, what an obnoxious individual with a chip on his shoulder. God help any dog that is bought by him.

It doesn't sound to me like he'd be much good at training any dog if that's his attitude.  He probably truly believes that collies come ready-trained and knowing exactly what to do, when to do it, how to do it and even if you want them to do it.  In other words, give the dog the book to read, and he'll learn by himself.
