In the last few days whenever I am on the intenet, somebody is trying to get onto my computer. A message saying "a recent attemp to attack your computer was blocked". At first it was once a minute but now it is once every 10 seconds. If I go to the details I can get the IP address of the attacking computers. What do I do???

Don't do anything until someone more computer savvy than me comes along but I think this is a scam just to get you to respond and perhaps get more useful information out of you.  Hopefully someone will know how to remove the little blighter from your computer.

It isn't asking me to fill anything in??? It is just coming up with a small symantec box on the bottom right. It is just very annoying as if I am typing then I need to click back to where I was typing before I can continue and as this is every 3-10 seconds it is very annoying
I can see more details of frequency and that each attempt has been blocked if I go the the "view details" bit

Don't know what you are using but Zonealarm does this all the time - there's an option somewhere to switch these types of alerts not completely off, but just not popping up a warning. Most of them are harmless things - websites "pinging" you (I think that's what it's called :D) to see if you're still connected to them etc.

These attacks are quite normal, I think - the main thing is that your security system is blocking them :) Have you changed the settings at all - you can choose to switch off these messages I think ?? Hopefully someone else will confirm this :)

Usually there is a set up you can do that automatically blocks all attempts for around 30 minutes?? can't remember where you acess it though?? If you go through to internet settings I think you can do it there??

Thankyou :-)  I'll get somebody technical to take a look sometime. As long as my computer is safe ;-)
