Hello,
I am thinking of getting a car roof box (erm for my car ;-)) for putting dog cages etc in.
Does anybody have any advice on these, pro's con's????
Is there any features that I should look for when getting one :confused:
Thanks in advance
GG

We've got one for when we all go out to champshows, more to put the shopping in and it was brought years ago to stop me and my brother arguing about bags falling on us!!!!

We did however, whist on the way home from crufts have the top box hinges break but apart from that one trip it's been brilliant! :D

Roof boxes are great. Security depends on the model you buy and the amount you wish to spend. I have lockable roof bars so they are hard to get off without a key and the roofbox fixings are inside the box and the box locks too. If you get one get the assissted opening if you can afford it. It will make it easier to open and less hassel. Also decide which side you need it to open ie rear or passenger side. This site will be able to help you decide http://www.roofbox.co.uk Petrol will be slightly increased but as long as you drive sensibly and dont race around then you will hardly notice it.

I have one permanently attached to my car as the rear of my car is totally caged out for the dogs.

I do not know how big your cages are bear in mind that roof boxes are not that robust and they have a maximum weight load.
