does anyone know of anyone who owns a boxer with a tail,as i plan to breed mine, but to keep their tails, now i have read all about boxers with tails, and why theyre normally docked, all the reasons believe me.But i know there must be owners with boxers with tails that do have some postive feedback, thanks

Your first concern should be that the dog has had all relevant health tests and is a good example of the breed. If you plan to leave the tails on I'd say wait until after the docking ban has come into force so that ALL boxer litters available then will be undocked, otherwise you may find it very hard to sell the pups as most people will go for a docked pup when given a choice.

Are you still looking for a room in london??? Is this for you?? If so breeding your dog at this time would not be a good idea due to the disruption and trying to find a landlord that will take you, dogs AND litter of puppies or in welp bitch.

I don't think you'd find a landlord that will let you have a litter of pups if you are only letting one room, have you any idea how noisy and messy pups are :)

I've only ever seen one boxer with a tail and couldn't work out what it was from the back - eventually thought it was a large skinny staffy until it turned round and was clearly a boxer.

Well as the docking ban will be with us soon,  seeing Boxers with tails will become more commom, so worrying over whether to dock or not wont be an issue.

but more importantly,  why do you feel the need to breed your dogs,  I  see you own 2, by any chance are you planning on mating them together?      have you done all the relevant tests on both dogs, have you a mentor who will help you , and advise  you as to whether iether  of your dogs are good enough  examples of the breed (in temperament, comformation and health) to use for breeding, (your breeder should be your first contact)

I am also concerned   from reading through your posts, you seen to be a novice owner,  maybe you should do a few more yrs of reseach before thinking of breeding ( there are to many badly bred Boxers already , our rescues are full of them)

I also notice you are looking into buying Boerbol and Alano Espanol   breeds ?  How are you going to achieve all this living in a one bedroon flat in the middle of London.

I am sorry if my post is a bit sharp, but I love my breed (Boxer)   and will fight there corner. and I have an uneasy feeling here!!

Hi

Noticed to your dogs seem to have a lot of health issues. Dont even think about breeding them until they are 110% healthy. Then only if they have had all relevant healthy checks and you have somewere suitable to live. Also able to hold onto any pups that you are not able to sell and can take them back if they dont work out. To be honest docking is the least of your problems

just a little note to say that my best friend has just lost her Boxer bitch from cancer and she had a tail, she was 9 years old and was a lovely dog and the only thing i can say about her having a tail was that when she greeted you she whipped your legs with it, so really no problem at all.
I also have a doberman who has her tail docked but I would never consider docking her pups tails if she were to have any and I also have a weimaraner with his tail and it is lovely to watch him when he is over the park sniffing  things out with his tail high in the air.
Roll on the time when docking is banned.

I saw another one with a tail today outside my house and it had a big fat tail like a labrador whereas the last one had a skinny tail like a staffy.  What is the correct tail for a boxer?  FWIW the fat tailed one was a dog and the skinny tailed one was a bitch but don't know if that has any bearing.

You people have got it all wrong which is fine, your going on as if i dont have a clue, about dogs, and everything that comes with them, they are like owning cars (everything that comes with them),yet i take extremely good care of my dogs, they are my children. As for the room, its no problem ive just found a place where everything would be in the greatest of interest for my dogs. And as for the person who asked about the alanos and boerboels,i was asking on behalf of someone whom i commented on the breed and really asked for information (as well as she doing her own research). So there for all you doubters thanks very much, for your positive curiosity,as to whether i know what im doing with the breeding. All i wanted was owners with tails to tell me the negative sides of it,THANKS ANYWAY,

hi,thanks for answering my request, well i just want to know a or some  boerboel breeders who live in the uk,because im looking to buy one in 2007,thats all, thanks

looked up boerboel breeders, but im also interested in the alano espanol,i have to decide early on,you see these two breeds are big in valencia in spain

I`m sorry but reading your back posts ,  it makes no mention of you reseaching these breeds for friends

Dogs are not like cars,   you can put a car away in a garage when you dont use it,   Dogs are like children  they are a life commitment.  They dont switch off.

Tails are your last concern, as like said before , docking will be banned ,so all boxers will have tails, it is the health tests which should be your first priority ,Boxers must be heart  tested ( before breeding), by a specialist vet (Cardioligist) and  can cost you up to a couple of hundred £££££`s  .
- By Boxacrazy [gb] Date 04.01.07 13:08 UTC
Heart testing by a cardiologist costs £10 per dog at breed shows.
Costs can be typically anything from £40 per dog upwards if you go to
the cardiologists own vet surgery etc. Depending on what tests are done.
Ascultation tests are the costs quoted above.
