I'm somewhat shocked, I've just read on a site specific to Irish Setters, that David Christian  Secretary of Manchester Dog Show Society and gundog group judge has died.

Aparently he died on December 23rd, but there are no other details. I first knew him back in 1976, at that time he was given a puppy out of a bitch that I loaned back to her breeder. The puppy was to replace a previous bitch that had been killed in a road accident while staying at the breeders house.

I didn't stay aquainted with the Christians, so I don't know them well, but David could only have been in his mid fifties.

I'm shocked.

Very sorry to hear this news. David always came across as being a genuinely nice guy.

He had been ill for some time but put on a brave face.

What sad news, a lovely man who will be greatly missed..

I am shocked & saddened too :(
He was a lovely man & always very pleasant. He had been ill for a few years but had recently deteriorated. No doubt he will have fought until the end.
