what are you getting your dogs for christmas???????????
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 22.12.06 22:46 UTC
Nothing. They don't believe in it. ;) They didn't get anything for Hannukah, Diwali or the Winter Solstice either. :D
- By JaneG [gb] Date 22.12.06 23:00 UTC
Are you sure JG? A quick google confirms that over 80% of dalmatians are apparently roman catholic!!

:D

I haven't personally got mine anything but family and friends have. The general rule in my family is that adults get a small present at Christmas and the kids get 'proper' presents... as the dogs are my kids they get all the presents! I've no idea how or why this came about though :D  Apart from 2 stockings each (so far) they have several wrapped presents.

Well now I know I'm soft in the head ...I did a special trip to LKA to get my lot their pressies, if you promise not to tell ..... this is what they are getting:

Louis - ball on a rope
Lola -  large squeaky ball
Lily - lavender squeaky teddy ( and yes she DOES take all her toys to bed :D)
Xena - nobbly 'Father Christmas' chew toy - another squeaky one !
Milor - new football
Folly - furry reindeer toy ( squeaky )
Max - mad floppy squeaky snake

things are gonna be awful noisy on Christmas morning at our house - forgot to mention that I also wrap them all and they get loads of bits from the Christmas dinner too.

My Chickens and ducks also get  special Christmas treats .....sprouts (which they LOVE) and baked potatoes...they practically mug me when they realise what I've got for them :D

Yep...I know it's crazy but hey ..IT'S CHRISTMAS !

I always buy mine pressies. They have a chew, some treats and a new toy each. There is a reason for the chew, they will be concentrating on that so we can open our pressies in peace. I usually have to rescue one of them out of the bag of rubbish at some point if they are not occupied and a couple of years ago one of them was quite settled in there and we didn't know she was there and she nearly ended up in the wheelie bin!!! Happy Christmas everyone.

Mine get nothing from OH and me :) Daughter has bought Tara a new grooming comb (as she needs it), Bramble won't get anything as he has everything that he needs (food, warm bed and lots of love :D ). Both will get a (modified) Christmas dinner in the evening and they both love having both the children home, so get lots of cuddles - doggy heaven :D - why do they need presents ? :D

we always buy pressies for our three beardie girls just a little toy each and ...guess what I wrap 'em up ! when we have all finished opening ours the dogs are allowed in and are given thier toys they get sooo excited rip off the paper (part of the fun) then run round squeeking thier new toys seems a bit daft I know but they enjoy it I swear they know its Christmas {g}

I buy the cats treats too and one year Mansell our 15 yrs oldest male(now at the bridge) had pulled  out his present we had 5 cats at the time (how he knew it was his I will never know ) I found it in the middle of the room ripped open right through the plastic packaging and he ate most of his treat days before christmas I guess he could smell the food but I like to think he was just a very clever pussy!!

For Christmas Roxy's got a squeeky reindeer shaped ball, a fluffy donut shaped snowman and a christmas dog.  I've got my family on boxing day and have little presents for everyone, so on boxing day she's getting a dog that 'barks' a christmas carol.  Shhhh you can't tell her yet though!  :D

Mine love christmas!
Maddie and Mikki are getting a new cuddly each to suckle on, all three will be getting bones and new kongs.
Will keep them quiet and occupied while we have dinner :) And yes they will be wrapped up ;)

They have to have presents, extra treats, special dinners (don't go with the crackers & hats mind :D )

Christmas is for EVERYONE in our house (well, except 8 legged things - death to spiders :P

I had to post on my other forum in case I was mad for buying and wrapping a present for each dog - glad to see it's the same here, at least I'm in good company! :-D

Mine have a new collar each (they were desperately in need of new collars anyway) -  gorgeous handmade leather ones :) They also have a new toy each wrapped and under the tree and an enormous tug rope to share :)
- By freespirit10 Date 24.12.06 01:23 UTC
Mine like theirs wrapped up too.

My rotti has a giant tugger, basket ball, squeaky toy.
The labs have squeaky toys, cuddley toys.

River has a box of 40 tennis balls to open and she will go mad. The girl is ball mad although I'm sure the others will all join in!!!!

They also have the bubble machine and treats.

My dogs are my kids and so they get loads at christmas.
I AM PREPARING MYSELF FOR A VERY NOISY CHRISTMAS BUT I ALSO CAN'T WAIT TO HAVE THE BUBBLE MACHINE OUT!!!! Yes I'm a kid too at heart.

My dogs did better than we did, and that's without the presents we bought for them!!! Friends have bought them
A reindeer that goes Ho Ho Ho, and then sings Rudolph the red nosed reindeer (their faces were a picture!)
A tennis ball on a figure of 8 tug
A squeaky tyre on a tug
A reindeer with 4 tugs for legs
A giant ball on a rope
A jumbone each..........the list goes on

I never had done... But (!)
Last year Storm had such fun with presents bought by family members I decided to buy and wrap some this year..
Have to say it was the highlight of our christmas morning watching mine and Mothers (whippets) shredding open their presents with glee.
All wobbly, squeeky Santa's &Reindeer are still in tact!! Bones are devoured tho!
(Ive put videos on my photobucket :) )

My family got my dogs quite a few dog treats, and also a flashing collar each. I don't know why I never got those before - I could immediately see in the darkness when Henry broke through the hedge and went to visit the neighbours garden!
- By hebeboots [gb] Date 27.12.06 00:10 UTC
