hi everyone
can you please help, jubilee is now 13 weeks old and is still going toilet in the house wee wees and poos.
she does go out side for a wee or poo sometimes, but most of the time it is inside.
if i see her sniffing i take her out side and some times we can be out there for half a hour and she will not do any thing then she will come in the house, shortly after she will wee wee or poo.
i also take her out on her lead for a short walk and she does not do any thing, but will come in from her walk and wee on the carpet.
if you can offer some help please do as i do not know what to do.

How are you cleaning the carpet after she's made a mess? If you use the wrong kind of product then you could be encouraging her to keep going in the same place. 13wks is still very young though for housetraining. Are you giving her a treat after she's performed outside - bribary works wonders with puppies!! :D

Someone will be able to tell you which products not to use, but my parents used plain water to clean up after their puppy and she was housetrained very quickly.

Good luck,

Fiona

Hi Sam, Jubilee is still a baby, keep up the training and I'm sure she will learn in time, you just have to be patient. Dogs are like kids they all learn at different rates, I had one puppy who wasn't fully clean at night till a year old and others who have learnt in a few days. Good Luck Ingrid

Sam

When taking her out to 'do her business' perhaps you could put a small lead on her and keep her focused. Then when she's done she can have some 'free time' sniffing etc. That way she learns that she has to do her thing first. Do you have a key word you use when she does her thing? If not then that always helps for them to know what you're asking.

Also I don't use a specifice timing for puppies, just 'everytime the feet hit the floor' is the general rule of thumb in my house. If they've been sleeping and wake up, playing, sitting quietly in a lap. It works out to about once every hour and a half probably. But the more often you take them out the less chance they have to fail. She will catch on. We had one that took almost a year! (not to be discouraging). We thought she'd never learn. Most of ours are asking out by 14 weeks.
