Ooooh, wasn't expecting that, though they didn't have a clue who it was?? Fingers crossed they have got the right man?
I was surprised that the person arrested has been named although perhaps that came from another source than the police.

Watching this on ITV news, they say the police haven't named him but they think they know who he is.
Well the Beeb have certainly named him and in fact he had previously been interviewed by the BBC because he knew the girls and was asking anyone with information to get in touch with the police (BBC news played the recording of that interview).

Hi
This guy was also interviewed by one of the sunday papers. It was on the news earlier he said in the interview he knew all the girls had been with 4 of them and was expected to be arrested by the police but he didnt do it.
Seemingly he was interviewed when the first girl went missing before the others were taken. Makes you wonder if the had found something then weather the other 4 would still be alive.
I do think it is bad the media are releasing his name and photo. But he did do the interview and by the looks of it there was a lot of pages so he is after the attention.
I said to my hubby it was someone they all knew and felt safe with, thats how they got in the car and there was no signs of a struggle. He use to take one of the girls to buy her drugs. I know this doesnt mean it is him but looks very suspicious.
Maybe he is one of these sad inderviduals that wants the fame and is willing to put his hands up for something he didnt do to get it??

it looks similar to Ian huntley who was also interviewed by the police and put out a plea to catch the killer. must be a sick buzz they get from it

Listening to the news, there is a chance that he may just be a lonely, sad, man who wants attention :( Another prostitute has said that she doesn't believe that he was capable of doing it :(

I must admit found his interview very much 'Ian Huntley' like. Very matter of fact and articulate. He didn't show any emotions that his 'friends' had been murdered or were missing

:(
>Another prostitute has said that she doesn't believe that he was capable of doing it
Unfortunately that's what the 5 who were murdered thought of their killer

Of course - I was just making the point that he may not have killed them :) Obviously, we all hope that it was him, as that reduces the risks of other women being in danger. Don't forget the case of Rachel Nickell and Colin Stagg - that seemed done and dusted. So I will wait and see, although hoping that it was this Tom Stephens :)

Hi
A second person has been arrested.
On the news this morning they were talking to another working girl and she said the first guy wouldnt of done it he use to look after them and make sure they were all ok. Does make you wonder doesnt it. Ideal person to get the girls if he did it and also ideal person as a susspect if he didnt.
Dont you just get the feeling this isnt real but a plot out of Blood On the Wire/Cracker type programme
