Topic Other Boards / Foo / HOT chilli!
- By Setters4me [gb] Date 12.12.06 20:40 UTC
I decided to buy a supermarket chilli sauce in a jar this week for tea. The sauce was very thick and nice consistency but far too spicy for my korma-like delicate taste buds! Just wondering if anyone knows if there is anything I could add to spicy sauces to tone them down a bit? It was a shame as had to bin most of it. I have made my own before and obviously add just a bit of chilli to taste but this was just for quickness tonight as Tuesdays are always manic and I didn't have much time to spare!!

Yoghurt or cream :D

I've also heard that putting a raw potato in works as well

I'm ashamed to say my secret ingredient for chilli is......Baked beans!!!

I lovvvvvve a hot hot chilli, but OH is a big wuss so I pop a small tin of 'beanz' into his and it seems to do the trick.

Chocolate added to an over hot chilli will cool it down - not sure how it works but definitely does as I have tried it :)
- By Dill [gb] Date 12.12.06 23:56 UTC
Of course, you could eat the hot chilli and then enjoy the chocolate later :D :D  It would be for medicinal purposes only of course so you mustn't enjoy it too much  :D :D :D :D

Nicest chocolate I ever tasted was at Cadbury World :D it was the drink the Aztecs were supposed to have liked :D  MMMMMM  Spicy, chocolatey, slightly HOT (chilli) and no milk!  It was fab - but they wouldn't sell us any :( :(  I tried to get them to market it but they weren't interested :(

> I'll try anything once

Surely not just once? The first time you are too shocked to know what's happened.  YOu need to try everything twice to be sure you don't like it!

Makes sense huh?

>chocolate Moles????? Eeeeuuuuuuw!!!<

he he, but their tiny feet are so crunchy! yumm ;-)

Mole is so good but it's best to make your own. My OH had some in a supposed Mexican restaurant here and it was garbage.
