Hi can anyone help me, my bitch is now in her 7 month since she had a season. She always comes in at 6 months. She is very healthy. Someone told me that bitchs can be late coming into season because of the winter is this true or is she just late. I know that bitches can miss a season. What is the longest anyone else has had with their bitches.

i think it depends on the breed some only season once a year whilst gsd season every 4/5 months. mine vary between 5 and 7 months so im sure it will come soon- you will have to be patient!

Yes I think it does depend on the breed. Mine goes between 8-10 months in between seasons and I've got another at 16 months that hasn't even had one yet!!

I've got one regular as clock work, 6 months to the day and almost hour!  2 every 10 months, I have one that is 19 months and not even had a season yet, and 1 who has gone 7 months between first and second season, so should be due end of December

Hi Velvet, I recently posted on here with a similar question. My bitch had her first season back in March and I was worried that she hadn't had her next season. However within a few weeks of posting her season arrived (it has been 9 months) I hope the power of CD works for you too!!!

One of my bitches is a month late. However, I had one bitch went 22 months in between seasons ( just when I wanted to mate her!) Went on to have a healthy litter.

Chances are that she will wait until the time of greatest inconvenience to you, and then come into season! :-)

OH yes! that's soo true!

I thought my bitch had had a dry season in july/august this year (which would have been 61/2 months).  All the signs were there, her coat went dark (they change colour with their cycle ) physical changes were there (looked like a baboon ;) )  she went clingy and wouldn't leave me - but no discharge at all     So I went ahead and booked her into some CH shows and an open,  and what happened??   She came into season the day after the second show, with 3 weeks to the next one   I thought we wouldn't be able to go so didn't really prepare her and then ended up bathing, and scissoring and washing and drying every piece of bedding in sight the night before a 4am start as she had finished  and not one dog took any notice of her  not even the one who usually thinks she's wonderful

With my line of girls I have tended to have frequent seasons when they are young, but the same bitches have been as much as 3 months late in season, usually when I want them to be on time.
