I would love to give my 2 dogs raw marrow bones but I can't find a butcher who has them All my local butchers don't bone their own  meat they have it delivered already boned.Could anyone tell me if they know of a butcher in the Wirral who sells raw bones? Thank you.

I don't know of a butcher in your area but I've found that it is the small old fashioned type butchers who will have bones as these are the ones that usually prepare their own meat.

Yes MariaC it generally is the good ole fashioned butchers who have these bones plus provide waste as they prepare all their own meat - however, they are few and far between - I have to travel a wee bit to get mine for my boys.

Suepatype - have you tried a few other places just outside your area to find a traditional butcher?

hi i get my dog bones from the butchers in the market in chester they cut them to whatever sizes you want and whatever bones you want and they only charge about 20p! i dont know if chester is too far away for you tho? hope it helps

Hi, Thanks for that.Chester is only about half an hour away and I often go shopping there so I'll definitely get some bones next time I'm there.
I have tried our little local butchers and they all said the same thing,they used to bone their own meat but they don't anymore.
It's a shame because i know a lot of dog owners would like to give bones to their dogs and don't like the cooked ones.

a company from Stafford (Rugely) called landywoods sell bones, approx 18 for £3.50   ring them and find out about them as i don't know if you live close enough that you would have to meet their minimum order requirement

where about do you live on the wirral? i live about half an hour away from chester. my boyfriend lives in little sutton,ellesmere port.
none of the butchers by me dont bone their own meat either chester is the only place that i have found that do it round here.
