Hi

I had a radom phone call from bt today saying there going to be sending me a free BT HUB  never heard of this before and he said it allows you to call over the internet, faster speeds etc?

Has anyone else had the call or can any one explain in lamans terms what a BT hub is?

M:confused:

I've got a BT hub and it means if you have a wireless connection in your computer you can go wireless. Its like a little white box which you plug into your phone line and it has LED's which display phone, internet etc. its really futuristic and looks quite nice. Im guessing your with BT internet?!? They charged me £25 for the hub!!

It's a wireless networking hub and ADSL modem in one. I got one for free when I upgraded my broadband package. It's still in the box as I already have a Netgear hub that is working fine so I can't say much about its features.

What?  You can get it all in one?  HIgh speed internet just arrived where I live in rural Canada.  Up till now my village has only had dial-up internet as there is no cable TV here either.   I've just signed up for the new high speed and might have been able to purchase such a product instead of the separate moden and wireless router I did get.  It is a racket over here, many ISPs force you to rent the modem.  At the rates most charge you'd pay for it over and over and over.

We have one but we upgraded to BT Total Broadband Option 3 so we got ours free with the upgrade.  We were with BT before the upgrade and didn't get offered one and sorry I've not heard that they are doing this.

It would cost normally so I'd make sure it was free and then have it.
