How do you get your Show Certificate of Merit as I can't find the rules in my year book?

The KC have a page you can download regarding points etc

You need to gain 25 points from general and group open shows.  The kennel club has a page you can download with all the points for each placing.

are you allowed to claim for points if the dog was not in your ownership at the time of some of the shows or does the dog have to gain all the points in your name

The form says that at the time of qualification the claim has to be made by the registered owner so it seems you can include all points even if the dog isnt yours. I suppose the same would apply to a champion. If you buy a dog with 1CC that would still be valid in gaining CH status. You dont have to start from scratch.
