I want to buy the OH a really nice aftershave for this xmas but want something different from the normal perfumes.
The sort of smell you get when you pass a bloke in the street and wish you had the guts to go up to him and ask what afterhave/cologne he is wearing!!
Any ideas?

I bought Stephen Very Valentino 2 years ago (divine) and last year it was green lacoste. This year I have bought oldest son the black D&G (Pour homme) ...lovely smell

I bought OH john paul gaultier last year. It is gorgeous, I always notice if I pass a man in the street wearing it!!!
Paula.

I think Burberry and Clinique smell lush! My OH wears both and loves them!

I used to sell fragrance and my absolute fav for men is CK eternity (don't like the womans version though), second davidoff cool water, also hugo boss, and wings for men is nice too.
Really you need to go and smell some, also remember that fragrance smell different on different people due to the oils etc in the skin.
Oh and don't buy the aftershave, it does not have as much fragrance as the EDT and will only last 1 or 2 hours on the skin, much better to get the EDT to spray on the neck and body (would not suggest on face as it will sting) this should last 6 - 8 hours on the skin, best bet buy box set of EDT and either aftershave or better still scented shave balm for the smooth finish :-)

Personally I dislike scents of any sort on men (and also anything more than a hint of scent on a woman!). If I can smell perfume without being 'up close and personal' it's too strong! The simple scent of clean washed skin is much more erotic!

LOL - my OH never uses aftershave etc - only uses deodorant :D Has never bothered me and I don't know what my reaction would be if he did start to use it :) The price of these things shocks me - I've never bought myself perfume :)

Joop Jump does it for me. I know because I stopped a man in the street to ask what it was he was wearing!
joop jump also and jazz, i to stopped a man in the street and asked what it was, but remember it might not smell the same on your man as the person that is wearing it,
we had gone to a perfume counter once and asked for some lace for my mum, as i always wear lace and the lady said try some on first walk around the shop for 40 mins and then smell it again on you mum did this and she did not like the smell of lace on her , but she loved the smell on me the lady in the shop said different types of skin absorbe and make perfumes smell different on people so always try and let it dry for a while before you buy

oh i can't stand Joop anymore-or Fahrenheit. I smelt so much of it through school and college, that it repulses me now! issey Miyake for men does it for me everytime. Its sex in a bottle. I want to bite the wearer

!
i would say that if you like light fresh fragrances, Armani's He/She and He/She White range are nice, but Issey Miyake is better. I used to quite like Dior Higher-thats a light one. If you like something with a bit more to it, Gaultier2 is nice, but its strong when it goes on. Lancome Miracle for men is lovely-quite distinctive (not as nice as the Lancome Hypnose for women which i'm wearing at the mo (second bottle)-thats to die for, but its like Angel-you either love it or hate it), as is Thierry Mugler A*Men (as i remember, but not smelt it in a while), and the original Kenzo in a bamboo bottle is gorgeous, but i've never been able to find it. A gay chef i used to work with wore it and i always had to give him a hug and sniff him! Calvin Klein Eternity is really nice too. Like Sharon said though, they all smell different on different people. One of my best mates can't wear sweeter perfumes because they're sickly sweet on her. I can wear heavier ones better than light ones (hence Angel and Hypnose). I love DKNY Be Delicious on my neighbour, but it smells awful on a girl at work. Angel smells nice on me, but awful on a friend. If Ralph Lauren Romance for women is anything to go by, the mens one will be gorgeous too (i've had 3 bottles of that stuff!). Theres just so many!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i am so with you Munkeemojo hate Joop with a passion!
My OH uses YSL "M7" It is in a brown bottle. It has afredisisacs (sp??) in it and it smells lush, very original!
Hmmm just thinking of the smell makes me go all wobbly!

My OH are with you JG. His favourite aftershave is my Clinique clarifying lotion. It's fragrance free - he loves it. (much to my chagrin ;-))

my oh wears lot's of different ones (not all at once mind ;-) ) Joop, jean paul Gaultier, paul smith, dunhill (love that one), pi (also really nice), davidoff cool water, safari, just to name a few, but i think it would be best to take your oh along with you to get a few different squirts on him, as these smells will smell different from person to person :-D

LOL - my dad used to wear Hi Karate :D :D :D I thought that it was wonderful - I've got more refined tastes now :D :D
Daisy

My maths teacher at school used to use Hi Karate to clean ink off the acetate sheets for the overhead projector so she could re-use them

:D Her classroom used to reek of the stuff!

Agreed :D I've been known to do an exaggerated cough-splutter when passing people on the street who practically have a cloud of 'whatever' following them

Can't tell a £5 scent from £100 one personally :D. I can't believe the amount people spend on these things!

Issey Miyake! Pure class....

We did this one before some time in the dim and distant past didn't we :)
I still don't think you can beat the great smell of Brut and Hai Karate goes great with me flairs and tank top :D
Love Issey Miyake.
Hate Joop, OH has a bottle that must be a good few years old but doesn't seem to be going down.
I have to admit I love the smell of Old Spice

probably because my Dad used to wear it!! OH wears Pour Homme (Chanel) because
I like it. I tend to stick to the same fragrances now as I know they don't give me headaches. Its very strange but I love Dune by Christian Dior but that gives me a raging headache as soon as I smell it.

Dune is my fragrance :D I love it ..in fact I only ever wear one of 3 perfumes, Dune, Chanel No5 and now Euphoria :)

Dune smells vile on me!

Horrible stuff :D
I like loads of perfumes but amongst my favourites are Jean Paul Gaultier 'Gaultier 2' , Ghost Serenity and D&G Feminine :)

Lovely stuff....you just have manky skin LOL ;) :p :p (Both of you :D )
