Do I have a typical female or a lazy girl.... My last dog (would have) and our staffie will bash a door down to get in the room with you, in fact my previous dog (Barnie) would jump at door handles to let himself into a room, sam would if he could reach  

The funny thing with Breeze is that even though a door could be open a little, if she thought about it, she could push the door to get in, but she just sits and waits for one of us to open it for her Sam will head butt it open to get to my lap.

What does your dog not do that makes you laugh?

my boy won't jump over a style, run through water /get wet   go in the garden when it has been really raining (as our garden floods to the point that it goes over the top of my shoes lol) he will go out when pushed and slide his body along the patio doors to the corner (where we have a border) cock his leg and then straight back in lol.

my bitch won't move either :-D and at the moment won't recal reliably, (but she is six months)

Although she picks up anything that comes to hand (or indeed, gob) to greet us with and we always shower her with fuss for doing so, she'll not bring things back.

This, admittedly, is laziness on our part - we've only done some half-hearted retrieval training with her but it's next on the agenda. In fact I vowed to her on her walk a few mornings ago when she ran away with her toy that she'd be retreiving by the end of next week. All I got was her back end as she trotted away.

Mine won't shut the back door when they come in from outside.

Goldie won't retrieve anymore, he used to till we got our flat coat then he just stopped.  I think it is because Flat Coat takes everything off him. Goldie still won't retrieve now even when he's on his own or we hold Flat Coat.  He just can't be bothered anymore, he prefers to sniff and squat along when we go for a walk.

I hate that they don't shut the door behind them, especially the one from the garden.
I would also love it if they do not get dirty from a long walk in the part and then not have to shake.....

Stop stealing food everytime my back is turned!!

Oldest dog, won't go out in rain unless dragged or pushed, won't swim, won't walk thru puddles, when younger wouldn't walk over roads/pavements with drains running underneath after rain won't retrieve but will bring toys to play with, won't do anything you want her to unless she feels like it :rolleyes:  won't stop screaming with excitement in the car :( so very rarely gets taken out in the car :(   won't even drink when it's raining so tonight her food will be soaked first ;)  won't stop being a naughty Minx :(

Youngest dog, hates the rain but if she needs to go will dash out and do the deed very quickly (while other one stands on 3 legs whimpering and getting soaked but won't budge :rolleyes: )   won't stop retrieving things even when they haven't been thrown :D  so far today she's retrieved 20 socks (or 2 socks 10 times each) and they have both been hidden 20 times won't stop stealing things from the coffee table to 'retrieve'   Won't make a fuss in the car even if she thinks she's going to a Good Walking Place/Show/ringcraft which she loves she just settles down happily and sleeps till we get there :)  won't stop being an Angel :D :D (I hope!)

Jet will not pull.  You'd think that would be a good thing, especially during on-leash walks.  But we cross country ski a lot and I can't seem to convince the couple who ski-jor with their Siberian that my submissive Lab just is not cut out for that.  Every time I meet them they say, "you should put a harness on your dog."  :)

My dog knows what heel means, but he always pulls on a walk. I HAVE tried everything, believe me, he just has to be in front. He isn't dominant over me at all, I make him wait while I go through doors, stiles, gates etc. I can have treats at my side, if I had a £1 for evry time I have said 'heel' I wouldn't have to go to work! I DO go to classes (nearly 3 years), the only time he walks as he should is on the way back from our walk, & I praise him over & over again when he does it right.

Just a thought, but have you inadvertently made the same mistake as I did? Do you say "Heel" when your dog's pulling? I did, and found I'd taught my dog that 'heel' actually meant 'pull'!

My dog heels really nicely off the lead but put him on the lead and he hates to heel but this is usually when my OH is in front with our other dog.  If I walk in front he tries to look back for his brother.

My dogs won't learn to pull the show trolley, they just sit inside looking smug at me struggling along!!

So thats where I am going wrong!

Can't think of anything my girl won't do at the moment but a really funny thing my mum's male dog just won't do is.............

eat chicken wings from the plastic container or his bowl, he absolutely loves them and is a complete gluten for them, but he has to be feed them by hand, if my mum should just open up the box and leave it on the floor for the dogs to help themselves he will not take one from the box, he will sit and look at them, you can see he wants them but he will allow the bitches to eat them all up.

He seems to think the bitches all have priority to this food, he is an absolute gentleman. (Or maybe a little henpecked :-D) But he always must be fed them by hand.

I forgot that Jet also has a similar funny phobia which is handy for me.  She won't eat the cats' food when it is in their dishes, not that there is anything left in their dishes with the new cat we have.  Anything they spill on the floor she will clean up though, after a suitable wait to be sure they are finished with it.  It's less handy when we go visiting and she believes cousin Laddie's (BC) water bowl is for his use alone and has to have her own separate bowl.  But she won't eat his food out of his dish either.

I can't say my dog won't do because last time I said that on here she started doing (stealing food from kitchen counter).  I haven't got a bin at the moment and just put the rubbish in a bag to one side in the kitchen and take out daily.  My dog hasn't, so far, taken anything from the rubbish bag.  Son left sweets on his bedroom floor and left the door open so dog obviously thought that they were fair game and I agree :D

She won't go out in the garden for a wee if it's raining unless I go with her :rolleyes:  However, even when it's tipping down like it was this morning, she is  happy to go for a walk in the rain, splash in the deep puddles and gallop through the mud.  Lakes, streams and smelly ponds are like a magnet to her and yet she hates being bathed

The only possessions of ours (humans) she picks up are shoes.  She carries them around the house and garden when she is excited but other than that she won't touch our possessions, only her own (not including food as possession).  Isn't that sweet?

If given the choice, gsp will not go out in the rain - and he prances round puddles, but won't walk through them. Flat coat will not avoid puddles - he has to leap in them :D And neither of them will put their toys away after playing with them.

Ours refuse to stay in when it is raining/snowing/sleeting/hailing and insist on still being taken for walks when I would rather be indoors nice and warm :D

Nips won't go into water despite his mum and siblings absolutely loving a swim. So if they all go down to the beach he sits, looking disapproving on the pebbles like a proper party-pooper! It's not as if he minds getting wet because he'll walk through pouring rain, blizzards, howling gales etc., and loves having a bath but swim - no way!

He also refuses to drink out of his water bowl if the contents aren't crystal clear but will happily hoover up the contents of muddy puddles while out.

lol Roz my 2 are exactly the same with the water bowl, but yet can go in the garden and drink out the tipper on the back of my sons trike or find a nice puddle etc   strange isn't it :-)

mine is the same wth the water bowl to!!!
