I have had a look at the past posts for GPS but most of them are geared up for the car.
I am looking for a GPS primarily for taking with us when we're walking but something that we can also use in the car so it has to be small enough to carry.
I have been looking at the GARMIN eTrex Vista Cx Hiking GPS, has anyone got one or anything similar that they can suggest.
Any comments greatly appreciated.

I havent got one, but I will be interested in this thread, I only have to turn around when out with the dogs in a strange place and im lost
dad keeps threatening to buy me a GPS system, because I always phone him up to see if he can direct me out ;)

Garmin Quest....fantastic, not certain it's in the house at present.
We bought it of E-bay, OH took it to France for his week away for the 'the boys golf'. he was really impressed.
On our half term Med cruise, we took it along, well he did you know boys and toys....However it was fantastic.
Karen :-)

We have a Garmin ETrex, and even I can understand it!

I have a TomTom for the car so I'm going to get the same software for my PDA one of these days. For now I just chuck the TomTom in my handbag. Do you have a PDA? I like my toys to multi-task when possible.
We don't have a PDA, we have been looking into having something for a while now as we do a fair bit of walking and the weather can come down pretty quickly round here. As for the car I usually drive and OH navigates so I can shout at him when we go wrong therefore would be sinsible to have a dual purpose GPS.

We have a tom tom for the car but you could put it in your pocket to get out when you need it - but there are probably some smaller. I chose the tom tom because you dont have to worry about incompatible software that if you put it on a pda you might end up having a problem with....
