I am virtually certain my RR Mungo has Megaoesophagus (we are still waiting for final confirmation from tests, but both the Vet and I don't really doubt it)

I have done lots of research on the condition and found some useful links on here.  I have noticed that the enzyme supplement 'Vetzyme' helps him though, and I thought I would mention it so if anyone else had a similar dog they may find it helps them. I have no idea why it works but it does seem to. He will go from refusing/regurgitating his food to eating normally and keeping it down, consequently he has gained weight and for the first time in his 2 years is actually carrying some condition.

This has helped his nervous temperment as well, possibly due to feeling more healthy. Does anyone know why this may have helped him? Or had anyone experienced something similar?  Does anyone use a different enzyme supplement, i'm sure it isn't due to  this product but the actual enzyme, we only use this brand as it is easy to get hold of.

My thought as to why it works is that maybe the B vitamins help his nervous system and that lessens the secondary condition of Mega E. The vet thinks Mungo's MegaE is a secondary congition linked to a nervous system problem, maybe MG.

I would be interested in hearing from others with experience with this condition as it is all very recent for me and a bit daunting as to the management of it.

Hi There,
My friends aussie has this and leads a pretty normal life........

I know she would be happy to help you, but unfortunately she has flown out to Canada today and won't be back until 1st Dec.........

I am sure there will be more people before then that can help you, but if you want me to pass you onto her when she gets back, let me know.......
