I'm looking for some wide and varied opinion about what info should be on a business card to look professional but not too OTT.  In particular should you put qualifications on it i.e. letters after your name.  I'm in the process of setting up a business and am currently designing my business cards and want to look competent and suitably qualified but not like a total bam!  Any suggestions?
I know that you all come from different professions and backgrounds and will have ideas about what you would be drawn to and what you would dismiss.  All suggestions gratefully received as I'm 2 steps away from pulling my hair out.

We have business cards. I would say get them done professionally. The ones I see that you can tell are done on a coomputer or out of those machines in shopping arcades stand out a mile and say to me unproffessional.
We have the name of the business, address, telephone number our logo and email address on it and thats it.
But the only time we use them is if someone comes to the van and asks for it, or we give it to businesses for the invoice address.
I am a landscape gardener BTW
Probably not much help but thats my view

Thanks for the speedy response Lea.  I'm going to get them done professionally and have already had a logo designed to use on them and the website.  I'm going to be working as a life coach and TFT practitioner - none of which are particularly well known or regulated so I wondered if it would add a bit of credibility to put qualifications on (academic and professional relating to both professions) or if I would look like I'm pretending to be a doctor/dentist/brain surgeon   Thanks for your input, it's been really helpful.

Yes I would put your qualifications on so people know, otherwise how will they know you've had any training? It's relevant information, not showing off :) Good luck

I would put them on, especially if you are a member of any professional bodies, I think it would show that you are genuine, not some charlatan. Good luck. :-)
