My dog trainer is having a party for our class - both dogs and associated humans invited.  We're having it at the hall where training classes are held and will involve a few games and some nibbles (for the pooches and us). 

We are only allowed to go if we dress-up!  Obviously there's a Christmas theme, but I really have absolutely no idea what Earl and I should go as.  (For those who don't know Earl, he's a 9 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback).  I don't want to put anything on him which he'll fret about (or eat), or that he can't comfortably travel in in the car. 

Anyone got any good ideas?  I'm hopeless at this sort of thing.  God help my poor daughter when she's old enough for school and I have to make any costumes for school plays :-)

I don't know about you but I've never liked dressing my dogs up!  However, I have been known to buy Christmas jingle collars and reideer ears from pet planet. My golden boy used to keep these on!  You could wear a santa hat or something?

I wasn't very imaginitive when my daughters were young either - you can see I haven't changed :rolleyes:

I've done pretty much everything LOL. Dogs wrapped as presents, dressed as Christmas trees, one dog as the wolf that ate granny (i.e. dressed as granny) with me as Little Red Riding Hood, a dog dressed as a cat, can't even remember them all but my personal favourite is having two dogs where one is dressed in a (child's fancy dress) policeman's uniform, and the other does a down stay underneath a blanket -totally covered by it. I then explain  I have two police dogs -one in uniform and one under cover. :D :D Always gets a good laugh that one.

Santa and reindeers almost everyone does so I try to avoid it and be different. Oh I've done 3 wise men and baby Jesus as well -the baby being a puppy wearing a nappy with a hole cut for the tail. :) I've had a Papillon dressed as a butterfyl as it is a Butterfly dog, and a Cavalier King Charles dressed as a King, now a Ridgeback is an African Lion dog so maybe dressed as a lion?

Seems a bit hard though if the dogs have to wear it for the duration of the party -all I've been to have always just had us dress the dogs and then after a few minutes it comes off again. That's usually for as long as any costumes stay on anyway LOL.
