I try and book all of mind ahead and get them at the £15 as I have to travel a distance to most shows. I try and book most of them at the beginning of year. If I don't go it is only £15 but at least it is there if I want it. :-)

Did anyone catch the TV programme Watchdog on TraveLodge last week?? People were booking and pre-paying, some months in advance only to be told on arrival that they had no room and would have to travel miles to another travel lodge Apparently they overbook like airlines and the last ones in don't get their rooms
So have I, but one couple and their children who arrived behind us weren't so lucky, they had to go back 12 miles the way they'd already travelled :( :( At the time I thought it was just a rare mistake, but after watching the prog it all fell into place :( If it had happened to us I'd have been really upset after travelling for over 100 miles, and thinking I was just 2 miles down the road from the show the next day, and then having to find a different place in the dark in a strange part of the country :( :(
This was a coincidence but i've just booked the Dreghorn one for showing. I didn't get a discount but that could be because we want to stay a Saturday & Sunday. They were happy to take dogs though :-)
I have just stayed at a Travelodge at Glenrothes because I couldn't get a Supersaver or Saver price at Dreghorn. Staff are very nice, rooms are clean and no problems having the dogs. Journey to Edinburgh next morning was only 30 mins.
That is good to know, so maybe the one just 30 mins away would be better value. Did you request the supersaver or do they offer it at booking? Cheers

There is now one even closer than GLenrothes north of the bridge at Dunfermline it only takes 10-15 mins max. I stay just 2 mins from the Glenrothes Travel lodge :-) Here is the Dunfermline one. Both Dunfermline and Glenrothes are just new in the last 12 months. http://www.travelodge.co.uk/find_a_hotel/hotel/hotel_id/299/Dunfermline
Got in at the Dunfermline one so thanks and it was cheaper. My brother is over at East Kilbride we shall be stopping off there after, wanted to be closer for the show day. Thanks for all the tips, is it easy to get into Edinburgh in the morning or are there places to avoid? Cheers
I come over the bridge a lot it is only generally working peak hours or if there is road works. I 5 years going to SKC I have never been held up once. :-)
There were some road works coming off the bridge going round to the M8, (road that goes past S Queensferry) might be worth checking to see if they are causing problems but weekends aren't normally very bad.
