Can anyone recommend good ones?

Thanks

Only my experience but I board Copper at the Cat and Dog Home in Edinburgh - they are fantastic and he loves it.  He gallops in there when he arrives and is happy and well when we pick him up.  I haven't found any private kennels locally to match them and the ones I have used, the dog has come back with one ailment or another.  Might be worth thinking about if no one comes up with anything nearer/better.

Have you tried asking at Linvid near Dunfermline?    I have never used a boarding kennel but have know of someone who used to board her rescue Munster there.

Hi Blue, if you're prepared to travel a bit further my trainer does boarding in her home- aparently the dogs get on the couches if they want  & are basically treated like one of the family. She is near the Kincardine Bridge. If you want more info please PM me.

We use Newhills Kennels near Auchtermuchty, not the most modern and uptodate but they look after the dogs ( and cat and jirds and budgies) really well and really care about them which is what we want. Have also used one just outside Cupar for the cat when Newhills were full, can't remember the name but they were fine too.

Thanks guys. will have a look at them all.   I am putting 6 in and the discount I normally get isn't very good. I was going to change out of principle but it is probably too near my holiday to make a quick change of plan for this trip..   It costs nearly the price of the holiday :-)

You'd probably be better getting a reliable house sitter and it means your house wouldn't look empty too.

My mum works for me part time and she has done it in the past but I have grown in numbers this year :-)  . I also have 3/4 pups I am also running on but a good trusted freind is going to puppy sit for me  ..LOL brave her :-)))

The way my flights are I have to put them in the night before and also can't get them back out till the morning after so they are all in or paid for 9 days.
