My friend is looking for a dog that doesnt moult, is not hyper, has a brain so it can be trained, coat type is not high maintence, is not yappy and is good with children over 8 years.
I told her get a toy dog, :) joking apart she has always owned dogs but they have all ways been cross bred, now she would like a pedigree.
Can anyone help please.

I would echo that and not be joking.

What is she willing to compromise on?  Someone is sure to correct me but wouldn't a dog that doesn't moult need clipping or similar?  I thought all dogs could be trained it's just how much time and effort you are willing to put into it. Dogs brought up with children are likely to be good with children providing the children are good with the dog.

Sounds like it should be a Miniature or Standard Poodle -sure they need clipping but she doesn't have to do it herself. Don't moult and certainly have lots of brains and are evry trainable. In Sweden we have a saying "intelligent as a poodle"!
