Hey all. I hope you don't mind me asking this but as part of my Animal Behaviour course I have to do a module of Statistics. We have just recieved our assignment and have been told we need to collect data or any kind and then draw conclusions from it. We were told to do something related to our course ie animals. I thought of you lot straight away because you are all so helpful.

I have decided to get data on the ages dogs lived to of under 30kg dogs and over 30kg dogs.
If any one would be willing could you please PM me the age your dogs lived to and the sex and weight of them.
I need about 50 pieces of data for each catagory (over 30kg and under 30kg) so any will be gratefully recieved.
If it is easier you can email me (in my profile)

Many thanks
Please don't feel you have to do this - I don't want to be a bother.
Best Wishes
Anna

Thanks
The course is brilliant. Really interesting. Even though i am loving the course i am finding living here really hard and miss my dogs hugely (next year have found student accomodation that allows for pets - i am not much of a party animal so will be company in the evenings)
I have learnt so much already and for the first time in my life i can actually remember what i have been taught - i think this is because i find it so interesting.
We get time with some really interesting animals - the best i feel so far is holding a barn owl. we are soon going to be free flying her so that will be brill cos i am really into training.
Enough rambling

Thanks for asking.

Do they have to be MY dogs - or can they be dogs I've known?
- By supervizsla Date 05.11.06 22:55 UTC
They can be any dogs.
Thankyou so much to every one who has contributed so far. I have got about 50 so far.
You are all so kind to help

Really glad you're enjoying the course, it so helps if it's something you are really feeling a pull towards :)

Barn owls are such beautiful birds, so light and so stunning. I saw a wild one back in the summer, just perched on a post.

Hey all. you have all been extremely helpful so far. I have got lots of results but still need about 50 more dogs. If anyone has any details even of friends dogs that would be so help ful. I didn't realise how many 100 sets of data was until i started this.

Again thanks to everyone who has already given me help. you are all so kind.

Just a thought, but if you are trying to establish a correlation between weight and age, then you might need to ask whether the dogs died from natural causes or pts, cancer, accident etc ?
- By supervizsla Date 06.11.06 21:39 UTC
Luckily most people have given me that information already (thankyou)
But if it was an accident or unusual it will be an outlier in the results and therefore i can say about this possibility.
It is not a dissitation so doesn't need to be too deep. Also looking at the information i have so far there seems to be lots of stuff i can talk about.
Thanks for the idea. Very kind of you
Thanks
