30 cm (one foot) of lovely fresh new snow so off we went this morning for our first cross country ski of the season.  I told Jet we were going at breakfast and she was on edge all the time till she saw the skiis waiting at the door, where she glued herself so I couldn't possibly miss her.  They are not allowed in the forest and wildlife management unit we went to but there had been a snowmobile part way in and luckily packed down a trail for Jet.  30 cm is a bit much to get through even if she didn't have arthritis, a bad back and old age to hamper her.  So we did not go far.  What a happy dog though, she just loves the snow.  As long as she can keep this up I guess my own skiing will decline to match her abilities.  Unless I win the lottery and can afford the time and money it takes to go out twice.  :)

Yes, I am lucky.  It won't last though, supposed to have highs of +15C next week.  Even when we went again this morning it was milder and mushier and we got in and out just ahead of three horse trailers with a possible eight horses.  They would have ruined it for skiing for sure.  Here is some snow for you...**:..**.*...**..**:...
