Does anyone on here use ebay. Just went into to have a look to be told my registration has been suspended due to copyright infringement. I am suuposed to have listed something recently that infringes copyright belonging to someone else! Last item I sold was at the beginning of the year & I'm starting to get worried that someone has a hold of my details. I have emailed them asking for it to be investigated but have received no response yet. Does anyone else have experience of this?

This sort of email from ebay (not really from them) is a way of getting your details it should be sent to spoof@ebay.com (could be co.uk)
Any messages from ebay would be in your ebay message folder on your personal ebay page.
Alot of these spoofs come through when you are with ebay. Always forward them to spoof BEFORE you hit the reply button and only ever reply if ebay come back and confirm they are the originator of the email.
If you use ebay alot of spoof comes through about that too.
Don't ever reply to emails that look as if they come from ebay from your email address. As dogcrazy666 says, go into your ebay account and if ebay have sent you any messages they will be in your message folder there. I have had several of these spoof emails recently, the first one I had I almost put in my details until the warning bells started ringing.
Hi all, the messages were in my ebay account also. I am not allowed to buy or sell anything for at least 7 days it says. By the look of it someone is using my name to sell these items

I had someone try to buy something off me not so long ago and a few days later ebay emailed me to say that person was using someone elses id

I've just bought a phone off ebay, paid for it through paypal and now the user is no longer a registered user!

If you have not recieved the phone contact paypal and they will refund your money after 90 days. They are pretty good.

Unfortunately Paypal will only refund your money if they can get the money from the sellers account. When they say they offer buyers insurance it's not really that. It's ok if the person is still trading on ebay and still using paypal but if they've closed their paypal account then you don't get anything :( I bought something froma seller that dissapeared, paypal say I won my dispute and they're trying to recover the money  3 months later still nothing.

I don't use ebay though my daughter used it using my email and I keep getting annoyed note from someone saying I ahven't sent them something. I did reply but never heard back adn still keep getting this mail so have blocked it now.

That's a phishing scam Barb. I get them too. UNfortunately by replying to them it means they now know that yours is a valid email address :(

Just to let you know- got an email late last night from ebay saying that someone else had got a hold of my details & was selling items under my name. Its supposed to be all sorted out now but a bit wary of going into check.
Re selling on ebay. I don't know if I am the only one not to know...but you can ask for a proof of posting - it doesn't cost anything, unlike recorded delivery, and at least you can show that the item was sent.
