i an going to groom an American cocker spaniel 14 weeks old she had groomed when she left her breeder. I was thinkning every 6 weeks to bring her back to be groomed is that about right??

Yes I would think 6 weekly would be OK. I presume she is to be pet trimmed. At 14 weeks she'll not need too much done. Her back coat will probably be a bit wild, but You'll probably just need to run the 7F over it.

Don't forget to leave her a topknot - the first lady I got to do my Yankee trimmed him like an English, and it was months growing back! :-(

True, though I can see why a pet owner would want the legs fairly short. They had one in at college today, luckily I didn't have to do it as the owner wanted the topknot off as well as clipped pretty short all over! :-(

An American can be shorter but still have the right shaped round legs - like an 8 month puppy. :) I've seen many with their topknot gone and the legs off like an English! :(
