The joys of owning a dog!

Whilst playing hide and seek at the park yesterday morning, I was running like a loon with Roxy in full sprint next to me when I misjudged a corner . As I looked down at her she saw the low wall and adjusted her path instead of jumping. She took my legs from clean under me and I found myself skidding, palms and knees down, along the path :O Currently sporting a grazed knee (agony) and cut garzed hands. I got a perfuntory brief sniff from Roxy - probably to check I was still alive - who then sauntered off.

Then last night, on our evening amble she decided to introduce herself to another dog a fair distance away so I called her and ran in the opposite direction. This infailingly gets her to follow me, so I leaped behind a fence peeped round and  saw the tip of her tale wagging, fully expecting see her bounce over the brow of the hill to me. A few seconds later, her tale had disappeared so I walked out and called her again. Nothing. She was nowhere. Trying to disguise my panic (with my heart beating and my stomach churning) I called her again when a women at the top of the hill told me she'd taken herself off home. When I reached the jetty, my husband had my wagging, happy fluffy puppy - clearly unpaniced nor concerned at her ordeal. This was in direct opposition to my own state and thus advised my husband to remove the dog from my sight immediately. ;)

So, despite being beaten and abandoned by my lovely puppy, we took her to a friends house last night, and for the first time she was "Model Dog". She sat by my feet all night, did as she was told, didn't  harrass anyone for fuss (as she is sometimes apt to do) and generally looked like butter wouldn't melt.

I love having a dog!

That sinking feeling in your tummy when they disapear has to be the best bit about having a dog Cindyloo was not trained by me but when off the lead walks at heal until one day she saw a pigeon and chased after it I saunter round the corner expecting to find her waiting for me and she wasn't there I felt physically sick I started screaming her name like a mad demented woman and after about what seemed like ten years but was probably five seconds she came strolling round the corner behind me needless to say I needed a stiff drink after that.
Where would we be without them

Yes, I really shouldn't mutter about Ellie always tripping me up, after the 4 years of the other two idiots charging off into the distance all the time!
