My Frenchie pup loved his food from weaning , he has been on Beta puppy + meat !! He has stopped wanting to eat his food, I have tarted it up with all sorts off treats, egg, cheese, tripe etc. He sniffs his bowl and walks away, he will eat nibbles though and eat his food from my hand ( have stopped doing this, tried it twice but thought he may get too used to this and lazy ). Vet says nothing wrong with him !!!

p.s He is almost 6 months old

I learnt from the late, great Buster Lloyd Jones in his wonderful book, "The Animals Came in One by One" that dogs in the wild often fast for a day or two, and he used to fast his dogs one day a week (obviously with water available!).
So perhaps your dog just isn't always hungry - could you try taking all food up for a day, and see if he comes to you to ask for food?

Oh Danny, you have unwittingly committed the cardinal feeding sin. You have faffed about playing coax me a little. He's playing the game and you're responding.:D

Right, back to basics. Put down the food you want him to eat, no tasty morsels, no titbits and no hand feeding. Leave the food on the floor for 15-20 minutes then if he hasn't eaten it by then, remove it!!

Don't offer it again until the next meal time, and if he still doesn't eat it in 20 minutes, take it away again, no messing.

He could.........if he's determined.........make you suffer the guilt pangs, for a few days. You must be more determined than the dog, you're the boss. I promise you he won't starve himself. It's time to get tough, be strong, you're gonna need to be. :D

I know that this advice sounds very hard but it is totally correct!! Please persevere, it will be worth it and you won't end up like a friend of mine who had to put ketchup on her dogs food or he would turn his nose up at it.
Then she went away to Dubai for a week and asked if I would take him in, rather than send him to a kennel. I also promised to cure him of his 'faddiness' before she came back.   Day one he refused all food, so I just picked it up and but it away, Day two he sat looking at it but didn't eat it, Day 3 it didn't touch the sides...problem solved
