Topic Dog Boards / General / Pee stains on carpet
- By freespirit10 Date 20.10.06 08:02 UTC
Hi

Having moved house recently I have had a dog who has peed on the carpets which are a cream / biege colour.
We had them professionally cleaned yesterday and the stains have remained.

Anyone got any ideas.

I'm suprised the stains have remained after having it professionally cleaned. We've got off-cream carpets through-out our house (not of our own choice!) but we've not had a stain that hasnt come off. I use the bissel carpet cleaner a couple times a year and if accidents happen then I clear them up asap with that wash and get off stuff or the bissel spot cleaner. I even had bright red crystal light spilled on it and it still came off!

If there is a darker edge around the outside of the stain then the area has been over - wet, and the stain could be 'fixed in'!

You could try a solution of Borax, 1 tablespoon to 1 pint of water, don't overwet the area and work from outside to in.   A colour patch test is always adviseable.  :P

Try Oxi-clean, I found it works really well on my carpets, just add a touch of washing powder to help
