Do any of you go to craft fairs and if you do, do you actually buy anything??  My mum's roped me into taking a table at a local one next month but on past experience we don't sell anything despite people saying our stuff is "lovely".  I've got a lot of hand made cards/candles/christmas decorations etc which will be very reasonably priced but will people be tempted.  Do you like stall holders to be friendly (you feel pressure to buy) or ignore you while you look (you feel like they don't care if you buy or not)?  I'm rubbish at sales

I go, and I do like to be left alone at first, but hope that the stall holder will at least smile. At least then you know you are not being ignored. I hate being ignored, but hate the pushy seller, too ;) Yes, I do buy, if the stall holder has something I want. After all, that's why I go to craft fares :)

Hope you'll come to the one I'm at :)  Most people just seem to like looking, which is fine - but I always hear the "I could do that" comments.  I'll just acknowledge potential customers and then be on hand to help and take the cash :) :)  Sometimes I think I'm not pushy enough!

My sister and I used to frequent craft fairs with high quality goods. If it was well made and not trashy we would buy (a lot;-) we're C-word bunnies) I like people to acknowledge my presence with a smile or hello but don't like to be asked questions. If I'm really eyeballing something a look interested then a simple 'do you have any questions, or can I help you' is fine and doesn't put me off.

I'd ditto exactly what you have said, Lori (except that I didn't buy 'a lot' because I'm a scrooge :D )

CG, where is it being held? If it's nearby I'll definately be there! :)

It's in Port Seton in East Lothian (mum's territory!).  Not very handy if you live in the south   I think it's early november sometime - I'm afraid I wasn't listening too hard as I was panicking about not having enough things to sell!!

Possibly a bit far (I'm near Brechin) but will see nearer the time. I might just be in the area (looking at puppies :) )
