Topic Dog Boards / General / Dog personality like owner's?

Just wondering if anyone has noticed their dogs having similar traits to themselves?

It dawned on me yesterday that the things that bug me about Remy are mirrors of myself - plodding along on a walk instead of running, mood swings, stubborness, love of food :D Same thing with Opi - she is VERY vocal sometimes, and I shout a lot (usually at myself in bad words for being clumsy :p), and she has absolutely loony moments of leaping around, much as I do at about 7 every evening when I put a CD on and cook dinner!
It's like seeing furry versions of two sides of myself, really quite bizarre.

It put things in perspective though I must say, and this afternoon I was jogging to get Remy moving more on our walk!

With 3 Malinois, 2 Goldens, 2 crosses, 1 Cavalier and 1 Papillon I think I'd have a split personality if I was anything like my dogs. :D :D

Yep, have to admit to this one too! Like Henry, I love my comfy bed and won't stir from it unless necessary, Like George I am a greedy pig always on the lookout for food. And like Ellie I refuse to grow up and continue to play with silly toys! :-D

How about "talking back" (which I do!).  Copper just has to have the last word if he gets told off or not allowed to do something he wants.  He just lies sulking in his bed "moaning" his head off.  It's quite cute really but he most likely learned it from me!

You are not alone! I've noticed this quite bizarre similarity between myself and my dog.
Whenever I get frustrated in training with how my dog is acting, I tend to realise that I myself have the same attitude to work (leaving things to the last minute, only doing something instantly if it's said firmly and punctuated with 'now!', not bothering if there's no obvious reward...!)
