Urrgghhhh!!  My dog has just killed a bunny in our paddock, looked like it was a sick Mixy bunny!!  He has never done that before and killed it before I knew what he had got in his mouth..  Oh dear !! Is he going to be a bunny killer from now on ???? 

Dogs will be dogs.  Better check him for fleas now - they tend to leap onto a new host pretty quickly.  One of mine used to scan the horizon for myxy rabbits and charge off to finish them off.  I always thought it was a kindness.  Better a quick death.

Have frontlined them all just now and wormed them again.  Have to agree about the death, my father goes around his farm dispatching the sick bunnies to put them out of their misery. Still feel sick !!!!

My 2 caught one a couple of years ago. I have a young terrierX & a GSD. Mine love the thrill of the chase, but believe it or not, they didn't kill it because it was so ill it couldn't really move. It would have been kinder to kill it, but the GSD soon lost interest & came back to me. Tilly the terrier tryed death by barking for 20 mins in the hedge bottom!! I felt so soory for the poor little thing, it's not nice, but at least the poor bunny which your dog killed isn't suffering anymore.

I hope you took it home for his dinner.  The ones your Dad gets too would be excellent dog food.  Just keep the worming up to date.

I wish Nips would remember that he's supposed to be a Fierce Bunny Killer and not just keep playing with 'em! I'd love a nice rabbit pie for supper!

I know how you feel. One of my cats brought back a rabbit he'd killed this year!
