Our Golden refuses to go for walks after dark, she appears to be scared of the lights she sees when it's dark (the other night she wouldn't go in the garden after she saw the moon on the way out  ).  I think this may go back to a firework that scared her a few weeks ago, she watched it go up (it was a rocket) and then was scared stiff when it exploded.  I've tried taking her out at dusk as the cars just before the cars turn the lights on so the walk covers light and dark and it doesn't seem to help as soon as she sees a light she wants to turn round and go home.  I've tried persauding her with treats which helps for a few yards but no further.

Has anyone got any ideas to persuade her that walks at night are ok?

A very random thought, but have you had her eyes checked and does she appear to behave oddly in any other situations? My goldie has cataracts which is quiet common in goldies apparently, which means that she cant see very much when a light shines in the dark, which for my girl is very disorientating, so i try to avoid going out in the dark.
It probably has nothing to do with your situation, but it may be worth checking if there are any other problems, however it does sound like shes was scared by the firework. What is she like if you put your car headlights on in the drive when its dark?
