If a bitch has a 'normal cycle' when would you expect her to be in season again after a litter ?

Thanks

Lucy

Some bitches carry on normal cycle (ie every 9 months still) others might be acouple of months later.  Really depends on the bitch

My own bitches who normally cycle at aproximately 27 week intervals usually go about 4 weeks longer if they have had a litter.

My bitches have always come in season when they would have if they hadn't had a litter.
- By Goldmali Date 11.10.06 22:24 UTC
Yes same here. Same time as if there hadn't been any pups.

My girl came into season the same as she would have had she not had a litter too :)
- By Brainless [gb] Date 12.10.06 10:14 UTC
Out of interest are those bitches who come in same as if they hadn't had a litter have longer inter season intervals than 6 months?
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 12.10.06 10:17 UTC
Mine did at least - roughly 8 months.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 12.10.06 10:30 UTC
I thought as much as when mine have delayed their next season to 30 to 34 weeks, that would make it about 7 or 8 months, so maybe that is how long the bitch needs to get back into synch.

Valid point. :)

My bitch comes into season every February and every September without fail -the month NEVER varies (she's 6) so it is always 7 months and 5 months!

My Molly used to come into season on the 19th June & the 19th December every year, never once did the dates change!!  My 3 entire girls now go anywhere between 5 & 10 months between each season.

Wow that must have been VERY handy!! No need to waste show entries for instance!
- By Harmony Date 12.10.06 11:16 UTC
Yes it was especially as I only did agility with Molly

So if a bitch had a litter in May then the likelyhood of her having another litter and then ready for sale now would be almost impossible :)

My bitch had pups end of April, came into season again as usual in September (5 months), had she been mated (which of course she wasn't!!) pups would not have been DUE until November, so yes, pups born May and new ones ready now (October) would be impossible unless the bitch had seasons just 3 months apart and was mated when her pups were a month old.

Absolutely,

My bitch always comes into season every six months litter or not, with a 9 week pregnancy and then approx 8 weeks raising a litter, you can work it out for yourself that it is stretching..............
