Does anyone know if there has been a case where an exhibitor has complained about a judges critique?

Plenty of times Though if exhibitors were able to make official complaints then that would be the end of critiques.  As it is most judges are fairly bland so as not to rock the boat too much.

In the USA crits aren't done, mainly because the judges would worry about being sued by wealthy exhibitors who didn't appreciate their opinion.

To be honest an unfair critique will be recognised as such by fellow exhibitors and judges, and often critiques are far more useful to tell you about the judges knowledge than anything about the exhibit.

I have had my exhibits virtues critiscised (aqnnoying) but worse still their failings praised.

I havent heard or seen a Critique complaint via the KC, heard plenty verbally though,  but someone, has had a bad genetic fault on their dog in a judges critique printed, which will affect his dogs future, if the unjustified critique is not retracted.

In cats it is quite common for owners to get vet certificates contradicting what a judge has written to clear the cat's name, eg,. if the judge said it had a tail fault the owner will get the tail x-rayed to prove it is normal.

I think if the cat judges wrote dog critiques, the 'delicate' dog people couldn't take it!  ;)   And think of the shows where mass CC with-holding goes on! (Especially in British in the summer!).

Sometimes I think they have been looking at different dogs. :-)

The funniest critiques are usually preceded by the judge's lengthy and sometimes apologetic explanation of precisely what they were looking for in their judging - then you read the results and realise it doesn't quite ring true.

I guess we all see the world through different eyes eh? :rolleyes:

I can pretty much guess what a certain judge is going to write down just by seeing where he comes from. Italian judges (in my breed) prefer smaller and more delicate looking dogs which is exactly my boy is. Scandinavian are pretty much the same, while the ones from south-east part of Europe prefer the bigger and rounder bodies.
Now the only time I got a critique was when my friend's boyfriend was judging, but I saw that one coming from before LOL ..... he has pointed out that he doesn't like the type so many times before. But that's life! You win some and you lose some ......
