I am so sad. My father who lives in Austria has been ill quite a lot of this year with cancer and kidney problems. He has managed to fight the cancer but his kidney problems are very serious. He is in hospital again at the moment and I have just spoken to his girlfriend who has told me that the doctors hold out no hope for him and that he has very little time left. His specialist is going in tomorrow to confirm this.
To top it all I am going in for a hysterectomy next Wednesday. I feel my whole world is crumbling down around me and I don't know what to do. He is my only blood relative (apart from my kids) left. Both my mother and sister are dead.
I am sorry to moan but I had to tell someone. MY husband and kids have been wonderful tonight
Oh I'm so sorry for you. Sending lots of {{{{{{hugs}}}}}} your way. It's not a nice feeling knowing that someone is so ill, and that you can't get to visit them straight away. If you need to chat just PM me.

Oh Melstar - I only wish that there was something that I could say or do which would make things look better. But I cant. All I can say is that you and your father will be in my prayers tonight {{{hugs}}}}.
Is there any chance that you can get over to Austria this week to see him? Or would he know you even if you went?
Praying for the strength for you to help you through the next couple of weeks. Your husband and children are there with you - and we are here too, to lend a shoulder to cry on.
More {{{hugs}}}

He doesn't know who anybody is at the moment so I don't really want to go over. I went to see him in August and I had a lovely few days. In a way I would prefer to remember him as he was.
It is hard being so far away and not knowing exactly what is going on

I'm so sorry. What a terrible predicament for you to be in and what can we say when words are not enough. Prayers and hugs for you and your Dad.
Thanks Lindylou, off to bed now but will pm you tomorrow if that is ok.
That's great Melissa. I'll be out for most of the day today, but will be here from teatime onwards. Keep your spirits up. More {{{{{{hugs}}}}}} winging their way to you.
When my mum had a heart attack my parents didn't allow me to go and visit (I was in my 20's

) as they didn't want me to remember her with all the wires and tubes. I'm glad in a way. Though I never got to say goodbye I still have good memories of her walking into my new home the week before. Good luck in your surgery next week.

I am so sorry -how awful for you. HUGS.
Morning, still no news. Didn't have a very good night as ended up at the emergency vet with Flynn 15 miles away as he had eaten something that he was allergic to and his mouth swelled up a lot. I think it might have been a little popcorn the kids gave him. They gave him an injection and said he should be fine but his mouth is still swollen this morning.
To top it all my mobile is now not working too :(

Why is it when you think things cannot be any worse, they just get worse? Little things that you could normally cope with grow into huge problems.
You can cope. You are strong. You are loved. {{{hugs}}}

So sorry to hear this Melster :(
I have you & your Dad in my thoughts.
{{{hugs}}} to you x

Love and hugs for you and your family, it does seem that when things go wrong it comes in great big dollops all at once! So have my best wishes along with others and be sure there are always silver linings..

Still no news on my dad although the end is very near but thought you would all like to know that Flynn is much better. It took nearly all day for the swelling to go down but he is back to normal now.
