Met a dog in woods today (lovely pup) and enquired about it's breeding and owner said he was a long leg American Staffordshire. Could someone tell me more info about this breed as not sure.Thanks.

If this was in the UK then the man ought to keep his mouth shut. American Staffords and Pitt bulls are the same or share the smae ancestry and in the UK Pit Bulls and dogs of Pit Bull type (which and Am staff would be) are ileagal. Not allowed to be bred from sold or given away since 1991 at which time they were required to be neutered, microchipped and tattooed and kept on a elad and muzzled in public. A number of other breeds that were not in the UK at the time were also banned.
Thankyou, you have answered what I kind of already assumed but was not too sure. So (pardon for being stupid) whats the difference then between American Staffords and Long legged American Staffords? When I asked the lady about the dog and she told me what he was, I mentioned "aren't they illegal in this country?" and she said no because he's got all his papers. Hence the reason for my confusion and post, just had to find out and satisfy my curiousity that's all. He was a lovely young dog though and very friendly. Thanks.

One's got longer legs than the other ? :-D
Sorry, very flippant of me, couldn't resist
Ask a stupid question i know!

What sort of papers? They might exist but what are they? Import Papers? I can type up "papers" but they wouldn't be legal or prove anything.

it's properly a poorly bred staff. With white sheets of paper with stuff printed on them!!!! :D
