Has anyone got one of these? If so could you explain how to down load the film to computor as the instructions are not very clear [ in fact they are non existent] and I would like to video our Champ Show next weekend to send the film out to some friends.

I have not long acquired a digital video camera not canon I am afraid - is it the software or the hardware that is the problem.  Mine connects to the computer with a firewire cable - goes into the firewire port.  I use windows movie maker to transfer to the computer. It explains what to do as you go along.  If you haven't got firewire on your computer it can be added - don't ask me how - my son would know. 

I have two Sony Camcorders, one that recorders onto a tape and I can transfer it using the firewire port or i-link cable, I also use Windows Movie Maker,  but my latest Sony model thankfully records straight onto DVD so no more cables thank goodness.

I dismissed those - thought that I could edit and put onto DVD on my computer - found that was a difficult option.

Thank you, I shall have to contact my friendly PC mechanic and get him to have a look.
