My bitch had her puppies 9 days ago ,they are all doing great 2  1/2 times their birth weight half are more. They were 7 days early didn`t have as much hair as expected, they now do.My question is will their eyes open and all other goals from the day they were born or from there real due date? I`ve not had pups this early before so don`t know what to expect.

I had one in my litter which looked like it was far too early, no fur on the head or paws and very small. She opened her eyes at the same time as the others and grew on until at twelve months she was actually bigger than the other bitches (they had been born 3 days early).

Anyone else had pups 7 days early?

Yes Morag, I had a litter born exactly 7 days early back in July.  There were 7 in the litter, first pup opened eyes on day 13, 5 on day 14, and I was worried about the tiny boy and decided to take him to the vet.  As I picked him up to leave, he opened his eyes and blinked!  This was day 17 - he turned out to be the first to stand, so I hope this will put your mind at rest.

Thanks for reply.Pups are 13 days old now no eyes opened yet, they are all doing well ,I have one a little lighter but she is a little fighter and reminds me of her mother.I will be glad when their eyes open .At least they have got all their hair now.
