Hi

Any one ever been or live near?  May be moving there in the next few weeks and wondered what others opinions where on the area?

Hi Thompson1, I live a bit south of Berwick in Northumberland, and I love this place. I agree with my Dad, he always says this area is Britains best kept secret. We have coast and country as well as city, and history coming out of our ears. Nowhere better. You're gonna love it.

Was up there a few weeks ago - my friend lives about 20 miles north. It's a nice part of the world, although, I understand, North Berwick is the place to live :D :D (which isn't near Berwick-upon-Tweed)

It's posh and expensive, so I've been told - BUT it's miles and miles away from Berwick - it's up on the coast along from Edinburgh :D :D

Hi
Berwick-Upon-Tweed is a lovely historic walled town, it saw many battles and boasts encampments, it has also changed from being part of England and Scotland on numerous occaisions but we decided to let them keep it the last time.  I have stayed at Ord House Country Park caravan site on numerous occaisions and would say that it would be quite a good place to live.  It is a smallish place, there are not abundant shops but the introduction of large supermarkets have made it better for choice and cheapness.  Getting into the town by car is sometimes a nightmare because some streets are quite narrow and it can get very busy esspecially at the weekends.  There are a few lovely places of interest that are nearby.  The garden centre is lovely and there is one good chippy, however nightlife is limited, it is definately not bouncing!
