Hi
can anyone suggest a herbal tonic that will put the oomph back into my three year old boy. Just lately he just plods around the show ring with no enthusiasm at all. Its really frustrating as i know his demeanour is costing him places and he trots around so proud and full of life elsewhere. I would welcome any suggestions on how to overcome this.
Thanks Irene

Do you show him a lot? He could be bored - it's quite easy to 'over-show' a dog so they lose all enthusiam for showing. Often simply giving him some time away from the ring (maybe up to a year) will be all that he needs to regain his enthusiasm.

Hi Irene Anne,
I agree with JG that it may be your lad is bored - not all dogs enjoy the show ring, certainly not to the same extent as their handlers ;)
I'd give him some time out over the winter and then try using Damiana & Kola (available from Dorwest Herbs) to see if it boosts his attitude a little come spring time.
HTH, regards Teri
Thanks for the suggestions up to now. I don't show him more than once a month maximum so i wouldn't have thought this was too much for him. He will get a rest next year for a few months when i hopefully have pups from one of my bitches and won't be able to get around much. Just wanted to pull him round for crufts next year before he has a break.

Click on
ring shyness & showing difficulties Scroll down the wording on the pop-up, it's at the bottom, and click on it :) You should then be able to order it on line (I've just tried and it appeared to work for me)
Found it. Don't think i dare use it though as they say not suitable for animals used for breeding and its out of stock

How strange - it's traditional use was for providing extra stamina in stud dogs with difficult to mate bitches
Perhaps you should telephone them for advice? They are very helpful and if this is not the best product for you they will steer you in the right direction.
regards, Teri :)

What about TopSpec, Coat & Skin supplement. Have a word with Christine Haxton, she has been showing a bitch for someone lately. The bitch had been showing very badly recently since the death of the husband of the lady that normally shows her. Christine recommended TopSpec and the bitch has been flying around the ring. The good thing is that the product is all natural.

show reviver I think it's called from plush puppy is a good one :)

Robert McDowell-put in search engine. He lives in Australia and has been treating all animals for many years.
Free on-line consultation-worth a try.

One of my boys seemed a bit nervous with showing - Scullcap & Valerian from Dorwest was just enough to make him happy and merry. But doesn't sound like nerves with yours?
