I am still hunting for a little car. Never looked at the Berlingos yet but can someone tell me how has one how the back seat folds or does it. I was told it folder forward like a bench seat does. Is this the case?

yes - they kind of fold forward twice to leave loads of room in the back - I had problems with my Berlingo and swapped it for a Fiat Doblo - same amount of space but ( so far) no problems :D

We had a Berlingo few years ago and never gave us any problems. It was diesel but a fast little van, I would definitely recommend it :-)

We've got a Berlingo and it is excellent for dogs. Drop the back seats forward and there is a large open FLAT space and with the two side (rear) doors it is easy to access the rear section.
Only problem we have with it is the heater doesn't seem to be too efficient. :D
Anyone considering a Berlingo (or the Fiat?? / Renault equivalent) for dog use - just look around at shows and see how many Berlingo's are there also consider the Peugeot version which is identical except for badging.

I couldn't get over how many Doblo's (Just all copying me!) at Driffield on Tuesday and that was just in the vicinity I had parked, none as striking in colour as mine though! ;)

im very INTO doblos now! def the "dog car/van"of the moment. i so want one!!!! but think im going to have to go bigger.

We have had 2 Berlingo Mulitspace and just got a Doblo. Berlingo was great little car but there is just that more room in the back of the Doblo. Highly recommended. we went to Rotterdam in it last month, no problem.

I tell you I have been round and round in circles with these dog cars.
I have been absolutely gobsmacked that these level of cars just don't seem to ever have air con. I finally bought a 2005 Kangoo Trekka 4 x4 1.9dci for the dogs which is the top of the range Kangoo. Had to just to get the aircon.
I nearly bought the Doblo but I felt a little bit sea sick driving it :-) it is very hmm bouncy. I could afford to buy the smaller one with having the smaller breed but boy do the Kangoos have space. It is like a tardis.
Air-con is an option on the berlingo
Strangely (not) we were at a club show Sunday (260+exhibits) and there were seven Berlingos in the car park - not a single Doblo :D though
Maybe it depends on the breed which is more suitable rather than just the vehicle itself.

Air-con is an option on the berlingo Exactly just that an option and if most people didn't take it as an option that means there are very few cars around with it. The Berlingo came off really bad in the reviews. A few major reoccuring problems so that put me off. The top of the range Berlingo doesn't have it as standard.
Probably right about the size of the car with fitting to peoples life styles :-)

It is basically a Kangoo but with a few " off road" extras. Chunky suspension, bigger wheels and tyres, of course it is a 4 x 4 . Bumpers are more chunky, fog lamps etc. It is a lot more expensive that the others new but I managed to get one 15 months old at a good price. The reviews are good on it. It will be great in the bad weather for the shows. I have to travel quite a distance to shows most 4 hours plus so it hopefully will be better that the basic styled Kangoo..
Here is a bit from a page :
Two trim levels are available for 2-wheel drive Kangoo diesel buyers, Authentique and Expression. Authentique gives you a 60/40 split-fold for the rear seat and a roof-mounted stowage rack inside the cabin.
You also get a centre three-point rear seatbelt, ABS brakes, a passenger airbag, electric front windows, remote control central locking, electric mirrors and an upgraded stereo. Expression adds 14" alloy wheels, body-coloured bumpers and mirrors, front fog lamps and a selection of additional storage solutions. The 4WD Kangoo Trekka dCi offers all this plus an all-wheel drive system sourced from Nissan and a larger common-rail diesel engine. The suspension is based on the normal Kangoo setup only significantly beefed up and hitched up a few inches. With impressively stubby approach and departure angles, a 400mm fording depth and 28-degree hill-climbing ability, the Trekka can certainly hold its own off-road.
The Kangoo Trekka dCi gets a 1.9-litre common-rail turbodiesel. This engines power has been capped at 80bhp although the big torque figure of 133lb/ft means that this is a car that will turn itself inside out with sheer twisting force should you depart with the handbrake on. Okay, so that was a slight exaggeration, but it illustrates the point.
It will also return over 38mpg on the combined cycle. It's fairly utilitarian inside - though that's intentional: you can clean the interior with a hose if you really want to. If necessary, the rear bench pivots forward to convert the Kangoo from people carrier to a 2,500-litre estate. Moreover, thanks to those sliding side doors, it's a lot easier to access the space. Versatility is helped by the airline-style overhead bins and side bins with a total volume of 60-litres plus theres the usual exterior plastic protection that makes a sideswipe of a farmers gate that little bit more insurance-friendly. Renault have played the Kangoo diesel card with guile. Here we get a pair of sophisticated engines, one for the Kangoo, the other for the Trekka, a model which makes some sort of lifestyle statement.
Were not quite sure what that statement is, but those clever chaps at Renault seem to have the future mapped out. Createurs dautomobile? Well have whatever theyre havinghttp://www.testdriven.co.uk/news.cfm/renault_revises_kangoo_trekka_4x4One one I have bought is the new version. See the link
I've had a Berlingo van for 9 years (which cost nearly £10,000 then, and was 6 weeks old, had been used as a parts van), and a Berlingo Multispace for 3 years which I bought when it was on offer, for just over £7,000. Once the back seats are folded down, the Multispace is exactly the same size inside as the van.
Never had any problems with either of them, and you can usually get a good deal on them at a Citroen Garage.
