I am at the show tomorrow-Toy Day-what is the ground like underfoot ?  Have put all my waterproof clothing and wellington boots in the car ready.
Thanks

Yesterday it wasn't bad at all although it was dry yesterday.  The car park is right next to your tent and I was quite impressed with everything really.  It was slightly muddy in some areas but I've been to champ shows which are a lot worse!

And they didn't check our passes yesterday either!   I really like this site, the ring size is fantastic, you park close to the tents & it's a short walk through to the rings.  Driffield can stay at Wetherby as far as I'm concerned.  :D

I was there yesterday and was surprised that no-one checked the passes.

I'm glad I'm not there today as it was very wet underfoot and wished I'd packed my wellies instead of wearing my summer shoes    Apart from that, the venue is certainly much better than the 'old' Driffield.

I was suprised at the pass thing also. I was walking right in the tent , but looking behind awaiting a tap on the shoulder ;-)

The position of rings, size , location of ground to me is all great . I was parked right at my ring  ( well it could only get greater further north ;-) it only took me 4 hours where it used to take a lot longer to get to Driffield.

The only down side was the mud , boy was it muddy. I was filthy and went and dug out my dogs wellies :-)

I have just got back from Driffield Show-and it sure was muddy.  We were water logged in tent three.

Had a good laugh when one guy helped a lady push her car out of the mud-once the back wheels got spinning he was covered in mud-one clear eye glass and one cacked in mud.  Had a few females cleaning him up-he enjoyed every minute.

Felt for the trade stand holders as there were very few people browsing.

I took all weather proof gear and my dogs were snug in their cage with warm bedding so none of us got wet.

You have to take the rough with the smooth sometimes-at least it got people talking and joining in so not all bad in my opinion.

Yes, I to was surprised at the pass security-no checks made at all. However on going in I was approaced by a lady who made me pull over because I did not have my car park pass displayed-she was on the ball for sure.

I got back at just after 2 It was awful indoors in Cavaliers with tiddly little rings :(

On the other hand I was pleased to me a lady who rang me thinking I was the Show Sec for Driffield Ch Show LOLOL Right society(Driffield & DCS)wrong show(we only hold limit shows)She has a puppy Shih Tzu & is hoping to show him(well her daughter is)She was lovely & had been spending loads on her boy-he's obviously got a good home even if he never hits the show ring

No one asked me for a pass to get out but as it was p*ssing it down I didn't blame them, the car parking people like at Darlington were really nice ;)

We were at Driffield on Tuesday, it was soft underfoot with the odd muddy area but the weather was great so it soon dried up.

I was a little surprised that there was no one checking the passes, but really liked that we were parked right behind the tent we were benched in.
Made for a very easy day.

Glad I didn't go then MM. One of my friends said she thought the judge would have liked Henry, but it's hopeless showing him in a small ring, he needs lots of space to settle down regardless of being a small breed. :-)

LOLOLOLOL my boys hate being indoors as well as liking big rings The ones outside were a good size pity they didn't get to try them

Driffield was shocking!!  £20 + per dog . The amount of money they made they could have put some kind of reed matting or something down near the benches. Everyone I knew with trollies got stuck, they were filthy, dogs were filthy, we got shoved into a tiny muddy ring inside after we had all got soaked outside. The ring was so small we could not all get into the ring and the judge did not ask for us to take them round the ring.  Outdoor show in October!!!  What weather were they expecting!!  Rubbish security, no one checked my pass in or out, anyone could remove a dog without challenge.   There were a lot of people saying they will not attend Driffield champ show again if it is at Weatherby. What a horrid day!!!
