My dogs have eaten 12 raw eggs plus shells between them yesterday.  Don't know if they divvied them up equally or ran a running buffet.  Anyhow, do you think there will be any repercussions from this, one had a bit of a painful poo earlier as he passed some shell, but there doesn't seem to be any damage to his bum and the pieces of shell were very small so I'm hoping they crunched the eggs well.  Do you think the eggs will have a "binding" effect?  Any help gratefully received.  Thank you

Eating raw eggs in itself isn't a problem - mine have just had one each as part of their dinner :D :D I suppose that it might cause them to have a funny tummy, but probably won't have much effect :D How many dogs do you have ?? :)

Just saw that they ate them yesterday - I think that you would have known by now if there was a problem :D

I find eggs have a slight binding effect on my dog - which comes in handy on training club days when sneaky people try to give him too much liver.

My dogs scoff pheasant eggs in our fields shells and all.  The Barf diet actually suggests giving egg with shell.  My dogs will eat shell and egg and have had no side effects.

I've got 4 dogs.  I couldn't believe it when I came down stairs and saw the mess.  You know when you have that moment and your're just trying to take in the scene and work out what's wrong with this picture.  I thought where are the eggs , have I put them away and I kept looking in the fridge, then I went in the main room and saw the ripped up egg carton and the shells remnants all over the settees and in the baskets  and it all fell into place.  I'm sure they're fine, their bums might be a bit sore for a couple of days (serves 'em right)  Thanks for your replies.

My dog loves raw eggs but once she threw up shortly after eating one.  Of course she managed to do this on the only piece of carpet we have downstairs and because it was now a warm raw egg it set in the pile   What is the "kim and aggie" method for removing setting raw egg from a carpet?
