Has anyone used dog boots and found them successful in keeping a cut and bandaged paw clean? If, so which one(s) have you used.

I did try using them, but found they came off too easily - maybe I was using the wrong ones :) Is your dog actually walking on the paw much ?? When Tara had a bad paw (about 4 months in bandages) she hopped mostly, so I used a couple of thickness of freezer bags to keep it dry and clean :D (Only for limited time on walks)

My Brett wore a Country Mun smallest boot when he sliced a pad & when Rjj had his dewclaws off the vets nurse made him some bandage protectors for when he went out for a pee etc from ringers solution bags He only had the bandages on for a few days so I didn't use a boot

Breet had his on for longer as the pad couldn't be stitched LOL good job I had a couple of spare ones as he wore the soles out but they dd work

we just used the ones from pets at home. they worked fine and she kept them on! they didnt bother her at all!

I just used an old sock - luckily my socks fit George's foot perfectly, with the heel just on his hock, so wrapping some masking tape round it seemed to keep it on nicely. :-)

I use baby socks pulled up the leg then taped on with frabric plaster tape

Vetwrap, which you can get from a saddlers, is perfect for protecting cut pads. It isn't sticky but it somehow clings to itself as if by magic.

We went on a walking holiday to Scotland in July. On day 1 our lad managed to sred his paws!! We rested him in kennels for the first couple days (just during the day whilst we were out walking) then managed to get some dog boots. I cant remember who made them but they did a good job. We did have to keep checking them as they had the tendancy to slip down.

I'd suggest having a look on some working dog type websites - they use dog boots to protect the feet of dogs who do cani-cross etc. They might be more expensive but they're def worth it.

We previously had some from pets @ home but they were rubbish - a pain to get on and they never stayed on!
