We are about to move house and we have two dogs one a Springer 3 years old and a 6 month lab . I not worried about the puppy but the older dog is a very home loving dog
Can any one advise how moving house affects dogs?

My poor old girl got ptometria 5 days before I moved. When I moved in July I had to keep her in the car so she didnt start runnig around while we aere all in and out!!!!
She is over nine years old, and other than the stitches causing probl;ems because she was too active due to all the comings and goings she showed no other signs.
As your furniture, and you are there I think that is all they need as my old girl and my younger dog (5) have had no problems at all with the move :) :) :)

My father was in the services and we moved house roughly every two years, taking dogs, cats and all other pets with us. Dogs aren't bothered where they are as long as they're with the people they trust.
I have to agree with Jean I moved lots when I was younger and my Cav never got bothered by it as long as he had my bed and me dogs do seem more attached to the owner than whereabouts

my dog got quite stressed when we moved and her behaviour deteriorated in relation to other dogs. She had lived in one house for the first 2 1/2 years of her life and found it hard to adjust to the new one but she doesn't have any problems when she stays with my mum and dad. Maybe she just doesn't like the house!
Dont worry about your older dog, as long as they are with you they will be fine.
my dog has moved four times in three years, and is fine as long as her bed is the last thing to b packed, and the first thing out. good luck with moving
Thanks to all replies, just love my dogs to bits ,

you have all help

I reckon if you plan it well enough they'll be fine - I've got a big move coming up and I'm already looking at boarding kennels and planning the move down to every last detail (I have to leave the dogs in the new town while I come back home to get my fish and cats). To that end I've also made sure my dogs have kennel experience so it isn't too much of a shock.

I wouldnt worry too much. He'll get used to it in no time!
We moved a couple years ago. We had a slight set back with our youngest who kept having accidents as she couldnt figure out where the door was, lol, but things soon returned to normal.
