My bitch seemed to have stopped bleeding after her pups 2 weeks ago but have just noticed it started again. Its not a smelly discharge or anything, just darl mucousy blood type stuff. Is this ok, I cant find in any books how long it goes on for.
thnx

A coloured discharge can continue for several weeks (6+) post-whelping. As long as it doesn't smell offensive it's probably normal, but if you're worried contact your vet.

Thanks JG. She has actually been out pottering more in the garden today so  did wonder if it was extra 'exercise' which might have caused the discharge to flow. I will keep an eye, she is fine at the mo.

Exercise will certainly get the uterus contracting and shift out any 'pooling' of discharge. :) Exercise is vital for her because she's approaching the time of maximum lactation (when pups are about 3 weeks) so she needs to be very well fed and very fit; it takes a lot out of them!

Jus to add, it seems how long they bleed for can be in relation to how many pups were born. I've known it to be only 3 weeks but also 10 weeks!
