some of you may remember that willie had been hit by a car and has now been in the vets for a few weeks now. Well he was doing loads better, he had had a  cathater fitted, and was doing really well, then at teh begining of teh week he had either pulled the cathater out or his bladder had pushed it out, the vet decided to leave it out to see how willie coped, he didnt do well at all and the vet was having problems expressing his bladder again so today willie had another cathater fitted, the vet said if it doesnt work this time then there is nothing else that can be done :( so fingers crossed willie regains full use of his bladder, to top it all he isnt covered on the insurance as in order to change the policy from mums name to mine i had to cancel the policy and when he first went to the vets he was in the 2 week 'probation' period, so not claimable. Fingers crossed that willies bladder decides that it will work after all, so that he can come home

Hi Tanya,
Sorry to hear about your boy! he sounds like he has had a rough time so everything crossed here that he has a full recovery. 
Have you tried to call your insurance company about this? At the end of the day it isn't your fault that they make you cancel the policy just to change the name.... I would call them and see what they can come up with!!  Vets bills don't come cheap, I have had my fair share and more this last year.
Hope all goes well for you and can get a claim sorted out.

Willie is now home, but most disgusted as he is in a dog crate, and he is staying there until i move (im moving to Norfolk in a few months but Willie is going up October).
He still needs the occasional bit of help to go to the toilet but otherwise is ok, but as he isnt emptying his bladder fully it could cause problems in the future.

When i first found out he was coming home i phoned everyone to let them know he had been a wee :D and the nurses said when he first went they told everyone as well, everyone has been willing him to go :D and last night when i picked him up they were sad but pleased to see him go home.

im updating daisys photo diary as i type, but me wont be posting (got slapped wrists ;) :D ) but if you want to see the all new Daisy PM me and i can send you the new pics. The bunnies however arent doing so well, i had Baby Rabbits mum Betsy PTS yesturday as she had myxi :( the incubation period is 2 - 10 days not the 2 days i was originally told, so i thought all bunnies were in the clear only to find Betsy in a bad way yesturday morning :(

willie is back in the vets :(
he stopped going to the toilet on his own, he wants to because he is going through all the motions but the muscles in his bladder arent able to respond :( so he is having a cathater fitted again to rest his muscles as they may not have been rested enough before, if the cathater doesnt work this time then there is nothing else that can be done so willie may have to be PTS :( the worse thing about it all is that he is an otherwise healthy cat :(

Oh dear, poor little chap. :( That must be so horrible for him. I hope the catheter does the trick and his muscles can take over again soon.

unfortunely Willie was PTS just before lunch today :( the third attempt to help him wasnt successful and there was nothing else that could be done for him. Im a coward and couldnt stay with him so my mum left work so he wasnt alone, he had become afirm favourite with the nurses and when i went to say goodbye i wasnt the only one crying :( i have never had an animal cremated before always prefering to bring them home to bury, but as im moving i cant leave him behind so im having him cremated so he can still come with me.

So sorry that Willie had to be given peace :( but do try and think of it that way.  He's in a better place than you or I and when you have him home again of course you will grieve but you'll also remember the happy days when he was strong and healthy and maybe even a bit naughty now and again  ;)

So sorry to hear about Willie. cremation is a very good option.At the animal shelter here there is a garden of rest where you can sprinkle the ashes, we have a small, small garden and use that option, it is a great comfort to know our pets are together there.
I know how you feel about not being able to stay, I stayed with my bitch Kit, and was unable to do it then for my cat, my sister came and went in with him.

Oh no, so sorry to hear that.  It really hits home for me; you may remember I successfully homed a stray kitten that I called Willie.  Poor little Willie, I will have a little cry for him, and you.

i collected Willies ashes today :( and received a beautiful poem from the people that cremated him
