my dog urinates for a minute and keeps on going for a little bit more, but he does go out so much in one day,

I don't understand your problem.

Do you think he wees too much or too little? Does he wee for a whole minute (you've timed him?)? How often? How much does he drink - have you measured his intake? Is he fed wet food or dry food?

There are many possible causes including infection, stones, trauma. Only a vet can diagnose the cause in this instance. It will help the vet if you take a sample of urine when you go for your appointment.
One of my previous dogs (a castrated male) had been left at home alone for long periods by his previous owner and so I think it was habit that made him save everything up for ages, then pass a swimming pool's worth - I can't say I ever timed him though! He was perfectly healthy. We did however teach him to go on command so that we could get him to go more regularly.

I have to try to get mine to fill their bladders then empty them properly; a good long wee flushes the bladder better than small 'marking' wees.

I may be misunderstanding Robinho's message. I thought he was saying there was a pause before continuing to pass water again.
